Recently, Eric wrote an article about the online movement to save the Expanded Universe, entitled "Anger Leads To Hate: Inside The Movement To Save The Expanded Universe". This small but vocal subsection to Star Wars fandom has taken to Facebook and Twitter to make their disgruntled voices heard. Their goal is to have the EU, or Legends as it is now known, continue; to have it live alongside the new canon, as a separate Star Wars universe.
Here on the Expanded Universe, we've talked about this topic from time to time, but never in depth. (Though, for the record, the last episode in our "beta period" was with Timothy Moore and Dan Wilcox, two active members of this movement.) Well, after I read Eric's article, and saw that it had gone viral, I knew we had to have him on the show. And boy, am I glad we did! We had an interesting conversation.
